The function of the Globe Valve is relatively large. The Universal Valve is used in conjunction with the Globe Valve. Its main uses are as follows:
1. When the air source signal or electrical signal fails, or when the main components of the actuator, such as diaphragms, springs, seals, transmission parts, etc., are damaged, automatic operation must be changed to manual operation. A Universal Valve can be used to continue. Maintain the regulating function of the Globe Valve.
2. The Universal Valve can also be used as a limiter for the Globe Valve stroke.
3. Universal Valve can improve the reliability of Globe Valve operation. If a bypass is added to the Globe Valve, the investment cost will be high and the area will be large. The cost will be higher when the diameter is larger or precious metals are used. The use of Universal Valve is more cost-effective regardless of investment cost or floor space.
4. Cleaning method. Welding slag, rust, slag, etc. in the pipeline will cause blockage or jamming in the throttle, guide part, and balance hole of the lower valve cover, causing strain, scratches, and sealing on the curved surface and guide surface of the valve core. There are indentations on the surface. This often occurs in newly put into operation systems and in the early stages of operation after overhaul. This is a common failure.
5. External flushing method. When using ordinary valves to regulate some media that are prone to sedimentation and contain solid particles, the orifice and guide are often blocked. External flushing gas and steam can be connected to the bottom plug of the lower valve cover. When the valve is clogged or stuck, open the external gas or steam valve to complete the flushing work without moving the Globe Valve, allowing the valve to operate normally.
6. Install the pipeline filter method. For small-diameter Globe Valve, especially ultra-small flow Globe Valve, the throttling gap is extremely small, and there should be no trace of slag in the medium. In case of blockage in this case, it is best to install a filter on the pipe in front of the valve to ensure the smooth passage of the medium. For Globe Valve used with positioners, the positioner does not work properly and the air path orifice is clogged. It is a common fault. Therefore, when working with a positioner, the air source must be properly handled. The usual method is to install an air filter
