How to Correctly Adjust the Pressure of a Globe Valve

Within the specified working pressure range, the opening pressure can be adjusted by rotating the adjusting screw and changing the spring preload compression amount. Remove the Universal Valve cover cap, loosen the locking nut, and then adjust the adjusting screw. First, increase the inlet pressure to make the Universal Valve jump once. If the opening pressure is low, tighten the adjusting screw clockwise. ; If the opening pressure is too high, loosen it counterclockwise. After adjusting to the required opening pressure, tighten the locking nut and install the cover.

In order to ensure that the opening pressure value is accurate, the medium conditions used during adjustment, such as medium type and medium temperature, should be as close as possible to the actual working conditions. When the type of medium changes, especially when changing from liquid phase to gas phase, the opening pressure often changes. As the operating temperature increases, the opening pressure decreases. Therefore, when adjusting at normal temperature and using it at high temperature, the set pressure value at normal temperature should be slightly larger than the opening pressure value of the ball.
After the opening pressure is adjusted, if the discharge pressure or return pressure does not meet the requirements, the adjustment ring on the valve seat can be used to adjust it. Unscrew the fixing screw of the adjusting ring and insert a tool such as a thin iron rod into the exposed screw hole to move the gear teeth on the adjusting ring to make the adjusting ring rotate left and right. When the adjusting ring rotates counterclockwise to the right, its position increases, and the discharge pressure and return pressure will decrease; conversely, when the adjusting ring rotates clockwise to the left, its position decreases, and the discharge pressure and return pressure decrease. The return pressure will be increased. During each adjustment, the rotation range of the adjustment ring should not be too large. After each adjustment, the fixing screw should be tightened so that the end of the screw is located in the groove between the two teeth of the adjusting ring to prevent the adjusting ring from rotating, but no lateral pressure is exerted on the adjusting ring. Then conduct a motion test. For safety reasons, before turning the adjustment ring, the inlet pressure of the Globe Valve should be appropriately reduced to prevent the Universal Valve from suddenly opening during adjustment and causing an accident.
It must be noted that the discharge pressure and backseat pressure test of the Globe Valve is only possible when the flow rate of the air source is large enough to prevent the Universal Valve from opening. The capacity of the test bench usually used to verify the opening pressure of the Globe Valve is very small. At this time, the Universal Valve cannot reach full opening, and its return pressure is also false. When calibrating the opening pressure on such a test bench, in order to make the take-off action obvious, the adjusting ring is usually adjusted to a relatively high position. However, this is not appropriate under the actual operating conditions of the Universal Valve, and the position of the adjusting ring must be readjusted. .
